As we reached the half-way point in our journey, we began the day in a conference room high above the harbour at the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie. During our meeting, we received an excellent briefing from Georgie Farrant regarding the firm’s work in the white collar field. The students learned a great deal not only about international white collar crime and the globalization of the practice, but also about Australian law generally.
The students then had the afternoon free, during which they travelled to Bondi Beach. In the evening, we convened again to visit two wonderful venues to support a charity for animal welfare in Sydney. The first was on the top of the Shangri-La hotel overlooking the Sydney Bridge and the second was at the Argyle in The Rocks. Another great day down under.
